There are three main classrooms, the "Sunflowers", the "Poppies" and the "Bluebells". Each spacious, open-plan room has been tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard to make children feel at home and comfortable. The warm colours of the walls and soft furnishings create a calm, relaxed atmosphere whilst the bright colours and natural woods of the toys entice the children to play and explore. The aroma of biscuits made by the children and home cooked lunches will whet every child's appetite.
Children can curl up with a cuddly toy in our quiet carpeted areas or listen to a story with their favourite team member, or when they are feeling more energetic they can test their agility and balance in our indoor gym under the watchful eye of our staff.
There is also ample time to spend at the art and craft bases experimenting with painting techniques, collage, clay, modelling or printing and to enjoy the expression of their imagination.
The well-planned areas within the rooms offer the children the chance to play independently or together in groups. Our construction areas are perfect places for every child to have great fun building his/her own dream and developing friendships. They can play "families" in their kitchen, or they can relax on their sofa, or simply dress up as the postman to deliver the mail! A restful library room is available for any child to use at any time whilst also serving as a teaching area. Nursery beds are available at any time should your child feel tired.
Our Health
Programme
We provide children with a nutritionally balanced diet, with breakfast, cooked lunch and afternoon tea, together with snacks of milk or juice and home made biscuits and fresh fruit during the day. A modern, clean kitchen is used to prepare meals that are served in the dining room with staff and children eating together.
We hold a Clean Food Award from the Environmental Health Department.
Cereals or toast, and fruit juice are offered for breakfast. Appetising lunches are freshly cooked on the premises daily. There is a varied menu with a wide choice. For example, roast meat and vegetables, home made fish pie, pasta dishes and rice puddings, together with childrens favourites such as pizza and jelly and ice cream. We can cater for children with special dietary requirements.
Outside her lunch duties, our Catering Manager also enjoys cooking on a regular basis with all the children. Healthy eating is promoted.
Toilet facilities are cleaned regularly to a high standard. Brightly coloured partitions, low level toilets and basins and attractively decorated walls encourage children to correctly use the facilities and develop good personal hygiene skills. Each classroom has separate nappy changing facilities.
